Eureka Translations Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201407745Z)
Version: October 2026 · Effective: 16 October 2026
1. Application
- These Terms apply to every quotation issued by Eureka Translations Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”) and to the translation, transcription, engrossment, affidavit and related services provided under it (the “Services”) to the person or organisation named in the quotation (the “Client”).
- The quotation, including its Key Terms, and these Terms form the entire agreement between the Client and us. If they conflict, the quotation prevails. For quoted Services, these Terms prevail over our Refund Policy and website Terms of Use. The Client’s own purchase order or standard terms do not apply.
- The version of these Terms in force on the date the quotation is accepted applies to that quotation.
2. Quotations and acceptance
- A quotation is valid until the Quotation Expiry date shown on it. We may withdraw it at any time before it is accepted.
- A quotation is accepted, and becomes binding, on the earliest of: (a) signature by the Client or its authorised representative; (b) receipt of any payment towards it; or (c) the Client’s written instruction to proceed, including by email or messaging app.
- Where a quotation offers more than one option, the option ticked by the Client applies. If none is ticked, the option is determined by the amount paid. If neither identifies an option, the non-expedited option applies and any excess is refunded.
3. Fees and payment
- All fees are in Singapore dollars (SGD). We are not GST-registered and do not charge GST.
- Full payment is due in advance unless we agree other terms in writing. Where we agree to invoice after delivery, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date, or before release of engrossed or certified documents, whichever is earlier.
- Overdue amounts bear interest at 1% per month from the due date until paid in full. We may suspend work and withhold deliverables until all overdue amounts are paid. The Client shall reimburse our reasonable costs of recovering overdue amounts, including legal costs.
- Payment is by PayNow or bank transfer, quoting the quotation number. Cheques are not accepted.
4. Minimum charges and volume discounts
- Minimum charges apply per document or audio-visual clip, as stated in the quotation, before any volume discount.
- Volume discounts apply only if all listed documents and clips are submitted together. If any are withdrawn, added or submitted separately, fees are recalculated at the applicable rates.
5. Turnaround time
- Business day means 9 am to 5 pm (8 hours), Monday to Friday, excluding Singapore public holidays. Working day means a business day extended to 9 pm, or a Saturday that is not a public holiday from 9 am to 9 pm (12 hours each). All times are Singapore time.
- Turnaround time is counted only within these hours, from the time we receive both full payment (or written confirmation of agreed credit terms) and all source files in legible form. If received outside these hours, it is counted from the start of the next business day (non-expedited) or working day (expedited).
- Turnaround time is extended by any delay caused by late, incomplete or illegible source files, changes to the source files after work starts, or additional documents or clips. We will notify the Client of the revised delivery date.
- Work outside the stated hours is done only if the Client requests or agrees to it in writing, at a mark-up of 50% for weekday evenings and Saturdays and 100% for Sundays and public holidays. The expedited option already includes this mark-up for working-day hours.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- If the Client cancels before work starts, we refund the amount paid less an administrative fee of 20% of the total quoted.
- If the Client cancels after work starts, no refund is payable, and work completed up to the cancellation is delivered.
- If we cannot perform the Services, including because no suitable linguist is available within the required time, we refund all amounts paid for the Services not performed.
- Refunds are made to the original payer, normally within 3 to 5 business days for local transfers and 7 to 14 business days for overseas transfers.
- These charges are a genuine pre-estimate of our costs, including the cost of reserving linguists, and are not a penalty.
7. Client responsibilities
- The Client warrants that it is entitled to provide the source materials, and that they are genuine and unaltered.
- The Client shall indemnify us against any claim, loss or liability arising from the content of the source materials or the Client’s use of the deliverables.
- Where a translator’s affidavit is required, the Client shall prepare the affidavit template, appoint the Commissioner for Oaths, schedule the deposition and pay the Commissioner’s fees. Court attendance or cross-examination, if required, is quoted separately.
8. Accuracy and corrections
- Our translations reflect the source materials as provided. Certification or engrossment confirms the accuracy of our translation, not the authenticity or content of the source materials.
- We correct, free of charge, any error attributable to us that is reported in writing within 7 days of delivery.
- We are not responsible for errors arising from illegible, incomplete or ambiguous source materials, or for how the Client uses the deliverables.
9. Confidentiality
We and our linguists keep confidential all non-public information received in the course of the Services, and use it only to perform the Services.
10. Personal data
The Client consents to us and our linguists collecting, using and processing personal data contained in the source materials solely to perform the Services, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. Files are deleted 90 days after delivery unless the Client requests otherwise in writing. See also our Privacy Policy.
11. Limitation of liability
Our total liability arising from or in connection with the Services, including for any delay, shall not exceed the fees actually paid for them. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business or opportunity.
12. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, government orders, or system or network outages. Delivery dates are extended accordingly.
13. Electronic communications
Quotations, acceptances and notices may be given by email or messaging app and signed electronically, and each signed copy is an original.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply only to quotations accepted after the updated version is published on this page.
15. Governing law and disputes
- These Terms and every quotation are governed by the laws of Singapore.
- The parties will first try to resolve any dispute by discussion, and may agree to refer it to mediation. Otherwise, the courts of Singapore, including the Small Claims Tribunals, have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Nothing in this clause prevents us from commencing proceedings to recover unpaid fees.
16. Language
These Terms are published in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese. If there is any inconsistency between the versions, the English version prevails.
