Interpreting modes

• Consecutive: the interpreter speaks after each speaker pauses. Suits meetings, interviews and hearings.
• Whispered: the interpreter speaks quietly to one or two listeners while the speaker continues.
• Simultaneous: the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker, usually from a booth. Suits conferences.
• Telephone and video: for calls and online meetings.

Languages

Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Malay and Thai, with English, plus others on request.

Rates

Interpretation is quoted by the hour or day, depending on the language pair, mode, subject, location and number of languages.

• The minimum charge is 4 hours, to cover the interpreter’s preparation and travel.
• Weekdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, and all day Saturday: 50% mark-up.
• Sundays and public holidays: 100% mark-up.
