Certified translation between Japanese and English for individuals, law firms and businesses in Singapore. We translate documents from Japan into English, and English documents for use in Japan.

What we translate

  • Personal documents: family registers (koseki tohon), residence certificates (juminhyo), birth and marriage certificates, diplomas and transcripts
  • Legal documents: contracts, court documents, powers of attorney and notarial deeds
  • Corporate documents: commercial registry certificates (tokibo tohon), articles of incorporation, minutes, annual reports and financial statements
  • Business and technical: correspondence, manuals, specifications, marketing material and websites

Certification options

  • Certified translation: carries our translator’s signed declaration that it is accurate and complete. Enough for most Singapore submissions, including ICA and MOM.
  • ACRA filings: our team includes an ACRA-approved translator for English, Chinese and Japanese.
  • Translator’s affidavit: for court use, sworn before a Commissioner for Oaths, in person or by video link.
  • Notarisation and apostille: for documents going to Japan, we arrange notarisation and the Singapore Academy of Law apostille. Japan is a member of the Apostille Convention.

How we work

Every translation is done by a human translator and checked by a second linguist. Your documents are handled in confidence and deleted 90 days after delivery.

Fees and turnaround

Certificates and other short standard documents are charged per document; other documents by character count for Japanese, or word count for English. Standard delivery is one business day per 2,000 words; express service is available at an additional charge.
